As I write this, my kids and I – and a good chunk of the extended family! – are about to head out for my oldest son’s wedding to a lovely young woman I couldn’t be prouder to call “daughter.” My first experience as Mother of the Bride…and, with four more sons to follow, probably not my last! Since I love all things bridal – SAY YES TO THE DRESS, anyone? – it was great fun to help my new daughter-in-law shop for her beautiful wedding gown. And I fully expect to shed some tears during the ceremony. After all, there’s a reason I write romance!
And have I got a new series for you – SUMMER SISTERS, my new Special Edition miniseries set on the Chesapeake Bay, focusing on three cousins who spent their childhood summers with their grandmother in her wonderful old Victorian-era beach house. Now the gals have inherited the house, reuniting them for the first time in ten years. While trying to decide what to do with the old place, love comes a’calling for all three. Except each woman has a secret that could seriously derail them on their journeys to Happy Ever After!
First up, in September 2012 (August on eHarlequin.com), is THE DOCTOR’S DO-OVER. From the moment four-year-old Ryder Caldwell laid eyes on his parents’ housekeeper’s tiny baby girl, he was a goner, determined to protect the little girl forever. But as childhood melted into adolescence, so did those protective feelings, forcing Ryder to end their relationship before they made a mistake. But how could he have predicted that his rejection would send Melanie Duncan running into his brother's arms? Now, ten years later, Mel has come home-and she's not alone. She was always the woman Ryder couldn't forget-and now she's accompanied by the child he hadn't known existed. And suddenly the good doctor can see everything he's been searching his whole life to find...right in his own backyard....
Then, in November (October on eHarlequin.com), look for A GIFT FOR ALL SEASONS. Emotionally and physically scarred from his service in the Iraq War, Patrick Shaughnessy is a true hero – especially to the toddler daughter he barely knew before his wife walked out on them both. And learning how to be the dad Lilianna needs him to be means there’s no time or energy for romance – especially in the form of cute-as-a-button April Ross, his new landscaping client. But the recent widow’s heart is far bigger than her shoe size, and exactly what both Patrick and his hurting little girl need to heal theirs…if only Patrick finds the courage to accept April’s game-changing gift.
The series ends in February 2013 (January on eHarlequin) with THE MARRIAGE CAMPAIGN. For nearly two years, Congressman Wes Phillips has struggled to balance his new responsibilities with being there for his eleven-year-old son, still grieving after his mother’s death three weeks before his Wes’s election. But will hiring the generous-spirited Blythe Broussard to update Jack’s “little boy” bedroom help Jack let go of the past…or only further muddle the present when Wes realizes that not only is he falling in love with his decorator, but that Blythe’s past could seriously jeopardize both Wes’s and Jack’s future…
